LMHR in london

this is my first post... i reckon i'll just post about stuff i've been to and general music shizzle. who knows? anyway, the last 'gig' i went to was the love music hate racism carnival in london. we went down for finn's birthday. was great sitting on the megabus at 7am with cans and tucking into bday cake. once we got to london we checked in at out hotel and got the tube to victoria park.

as we got there the view were just finishing which was a shame cos i havent seen them in a while and they were a bit disappointing the last time i saw em at the cockpit in leeds. we were in time for bashy though, who played a few indie songs and did fuck all basically, tried to rap over the top but didnt say much. the new found excitement of getting served legally got us through that though, even if it was 3 quid for a bottle of carling.

after bashy me, adam and franny decided to watch hard-fi. times have changed a lot since me and fran went to see em at the octagon in 05. i used to like them... how times change! anyway they were pretty shit so we went and got more drinks. we watched tony benn the legend give a short speech too, which was worth it.

later on, me franny and sean watched helsinki, the 'supergroup' led by drew from babyshambles... they were good, especially when jon mcclure and andy nicholson came on for a couple of songs (including jon's own 'paris at night'.

headliners the good the bad and the queen were quite dull, but the finale of an extended version of ghost town led by jerry dammers with an orchestra was pretty special, if you excuse the unintended (and shockingly bad) pun.

we headed back to our hotel for a couple of cans, into london for one of the nicest curries ever and then to the travel inn for a few more drinks and a great day was capped off by franny throwing up in the toilet.
